2.1 Citrate series products
Citric acid, an important organic acid, is often a monohydrate crystal with strong sour taste, colorless, odorless and soluble in water. The calcium phosphate tends to be dissolved more easily in cold water than in hot water---- an characteristic often used to identify and isolate citrate. Anhydrous citric acid, normally obtained from the crystallization process of calcium phosphate by setting the temperature to proper range, is widely used in food, cosmetics, and other industries: 75% of citrate output is used in food industry as acidity regulator, antioxidant, pH regulator, cool drink, jam, and pastry, etc; about 10% in pharmaceutical industry as anticoagulant, antiacid, and corrigent; and the remaining 15% is used in electronic, textile, oil, and leather industries, etc.
The Citrate products, like sodium citrate and potassium citrate, are also widely applied in multiple fields, like in pharmaceutical industry, they could be added into blood preservation agent as anticoagulant.
2.2Citrate ester series products
Citrate ester plasticizer, one of the safest plasticizers nowadays, is drawing a wide attention for its excellent compatibility, high plastifying performance, nontoxicity , antibacterial property, non-volatility, and strong weatherability, being the priority green alternative to phthalic acid esters.
